Hue's the Boss?! 5 Ways to Get Rid of the Winter Blues

Enduring the winter months (especially when it's cold and/or gloomy out there) can be a big challenge...

We're trapped indoors to stay warmer, sometimes we have to stay off the roads when the weather misbehaves and we can even get stuck with the same ol' boring view, whether it's what we're watching on the tube or what we see from our windows.

At Xtreme Green Grass Alabama we've decided we're not going to allow the remainder of this season to get the best of us. Here are 5 ideas we've come up with to get rid of the winter blues right away:

1. Plan a staycation for you and your family (or just you and your loved one).
Who says you have to leave town to experience a change of scenery? Take advantage of deals you see on the internet for some weekend getaway specials or last-minute promotions to book a hotel in the historic part of your hometown (or some place outside your city which you've never truly explored before).

2. Re-visit a hobby you've not engaged in for quite some time.
Love to read paperback books while taking a bubble bath? Miss painting flower arrangements or abstract art on canvases in your garage? Take a day for yourself to do something you absolutely enjoyed doing in the past, but just haven't gotten around to doing again lately.

3. "Make it a Blockbuster Night."
Sometimes the most effective cure for a case of "the blahs" is a good dose of laughter. Peruse your On Demand movie listings or check out NetFlix to find a comedy classic or funny new release for you and your family to watch (oh, and don't forget the popcorn).

4. Try dining out at a new restaurant.
A recent study shows people tend to think food tastes much better when the meal it's shared with someone or a group of people. What better way to rid yourself of the winter blues than to research some new eateries in your area and bring someone out with you for a special night of fabulous fare & fun!

5. Add some pizzazz to that view of yours with Xtreme Green Grass lawn painting.
Did you know the colors you see can evoke certain emotions or feelings? The color green symbolizes growth as well as harmony, and has a strong association with feelings of safety. Have our Xtreme Green Grass Xperts come over to spruce up your yard and you'll be well on your way to feeling better in no time (and your great outdoors will look amazing too)!
